One of my biggest mistake in my early days of blogging is ignoring the importance of pinging my blog. Yes, it is a normal thing to do mistake at our first try, but somehow I regret for ignoring this important thing although I started blogging as a hobby.

Ping is a method and update tool used to let search engines and other people know that the contents of a web blog has been updated. Sending pings will attracts search engines like Google and Yahoo! to track the new content of your blog. When you send a ping, it notifies all popular search engine crawlers and other update services. Some blog authoring tools automatically ping one or more servers each time the blogger creates a new post or updates an old content.

Ping your blog is very simple but has a great impact on your blog as it affect your traffic and Search Engine Result Page (SERP). Visit the ping service site, insert your blog name, URL and some other optional options and then click the button to send the ping. Done! You might be asked to insert CAPTCHA but it is not a big matter. Easy, right? That is why I said I regret for not practicing it earlier at the first place.

My favorite ping site is Pingler.com because it is easy for me. There are a lot of ping service sites and it depends on you which ping service site that you want to use to ping your blog. Some of the other choices are:

www.pingomatic.com
www.just-ping.com
www.autopinger.com
www.ping.in
www.pingmyblog.com
www.pingoat.com
www.pingates.com

If you are a Wordpress user, there is a method on how to automatically send ping when you are updating your blog.

Login to your Admin panel

Look for Settings > Writing

Scroll down to Update Services

Enter list of Pinging Sites in the box

I received an interesting question from my fellow blogger a few days ago – do we have the right to modify comments on our blog? This question is somewhat weird however I think it is a unique matter because I never think or come across to it.

Yes, we receive numerous comments on our blog with different expressions, opinions and styles and sometimes spam. But do we have the right to modify them? For example, some people might leaving short comments such as “Nice!” or “I agree” or doing mistake in typing or use of words. These comments might not a big matter for some webmasters/bloggers, but some of us might consider much about it. Again, the question is – do we have the right to modify comments on our blog?

As I had been asked this question, I will try my best to answer it based on my opinion.

Yes, you have the right
As a direct answer to the question, my answer is yes. Yes, you have the right to modify the comments as it is your blog and you have right on your own blog. You are free to accept and decline any comment as you have the right to administer your blog. But keep in mind that every action will have its consequences so think before you act.

Spam is always spam
I believe the question somewhat regarding to the spam comments where most spammers will send weird or simple and non-relevant comments such as “Thanks for nice post!” or “Informative. I will subscribe to your blog” and etc for the sake of getting backlinks (this case often happen to dofollow blogs) and in order to make the comments become natural, one of the way is to modify them. My opinion is – spam is always spam and there is no any compromise for them. The most suitable treat for them is removing them from your comment section (and it’s better if you’re using Akismet).

You know your blog
I believe most of us know about our blog and we know what we write and publish. So we know what the type of comments that we are expecting from the readers except some comments beyond our expectation (comments beyond our expectation is good, if it’s related to our content). You know what you write and you know your level so let the readers comment because sometimes simple comments might have a great meaning and sometimes you might realize this in the future.

Conclusion
My conclusion is let the readers say what they want to say (except spam comments) and it will be more natural if you let the comments in its original text although there is any spelling mistake because every comment that we receive has its own meaning. So I think there is no need to modify the comments and I believe that the content that you published will determine the comments that you will received.

I believe blogging is more than a hobby for some people nowadays and for the sake of performance, we have to keep blogging everyday or we will lose the chance to increase what we got. The question is – do you ever consider your mood while blogging?

Well, I’m not going to talk about psychology matters here although in fact moods are related to our mind and psychological condition. And I believe most of you agree that we human feel various moods everyday and sometimes our moods could change in a short period. Yes, I want to arise that question again – do you ever consider your mood while blogging?

Believe it or not, our moods can affect the content that we created and the comments that we made. You might facing moods affecting the way how people communicate, talk and express what they feel everyday and the same concept applies to the articles that we produced for blogs. One more thing is we might keep postponing to update blogs due to bad or unsuitable mood. Some people said bad mood is “spoiler of the day”.

There are some ways on how to handle this matter, in case you notice that your mood is affecting your performance.

Produce More Posts While Getting Good Mood

The key is simple. Wait for good mood and then start writing! Write a lot of posts and articles related to your ideas. In other word, prepare a collection of your articles to be posted for your blog or guest posts. You can use and post them later especially when you are in your bad mood.

Relax Yourself

This is a natural way to handle the matter but if you really can’t apply this, you can try the method that I suggested previously. There are lot of ways to relax yourself – drink a coffee, watch TV, rest your mind & body or take a nap. The most important thing is to relax yourself and release your mind and body from stressful condition. After getting the spirit and good mood again, continue updating your blogs.

When talking about mood, I guess it is a general thing and you can apply this for other tasks too. I just make the scope smaller to blogging because getting good mood is important to produce nice content. It is no matter how you look into this matter, the most important things is to give yourself a suitable condition while blogging so you can produce beneficial and high-quality content.

I still remember the early days of my involvement in blogging and sometimes I smile when remembering about it. It is because the things happened at the fast directly or indirectly affect our today’s life. And that is what we call history.

I started blogging as a trend followers when I was in secondary school where I saw my schoolmates building their own blogs so I created one for myself as I didn’t want to be left behind. Then I realized that blogging is a nice thing to express something and then your expression can be commented by other people or readers.

Blogging then becomes my hobby where I found that I can make a lot of friends and know a lot of things through blogging. One of my friends introduced Adsense to me and starting from that time I realized that making money online is not impossible; the thing is – how can I make money online? I kept wondering and since it’s a rare chance to get online, the question dissolved itself.

Time moves and then I went for the next level – using a self-hosted blog. That was for my personal blog and I felt so happy to have my own self-hosted blog with ‘.com’ behind the address. I blogged almost everyday and made a lot friends through blogging and then commenting at other people’s blogs. Yeah, it is one of the technique for getting traffic to your blog but I even didn’t know that it is a ‘technique’ at that time.

One day I found a portal for paid post, a new thing for me. I then tried to register my personal blog and fortunately had been approved. In a few days, I got a writing job. I tried to write based on the requirements and submitted my article. Within a few days, an amount money had been transferred into my Paypal account. I said to myself – “Wow! They pay me for writing the article!”

Since that day, I explored a lot of things about blogging seriously and found a lot of things including various bloggers and techniques. Although I’m still a student, I grew my niche blogs based on the research that I did and I happy to see it worked well. The amazing thing is when I realized that blogging involves discipline and within a few months, I feel more confident to use English and writing articles through blogging.

Some people said to me that blogging is for noobs. What? I feel pity for the people who said that because currently I got money almost everyday from blogging! I feel that blogging had changed my life, not completely but a big part of it. I feel happy because blogging helped me to be better than nothing.

Happy blogging!

Creating own product might sound like an impossible thing for us in the previous years but thanks to the technology we are now capable of creating our own products although we never have any experience of creating product before. Creating own product is something that you should put in your steps to success as it is one of the steps that help to get you a unique brand and sometimes help to boost for your income.

There are various types of product that you can create under your name or your website’s name such as E-Book, software, script, T-Shirt, mug, Wordpress themes and etc. By the way I suggest you focus on creating E-Book as your first product as you can put a lot of things into an E-Book and give benefits to other people. For example Blogging Tips offers free E-Books to the readers who sign up for their newsletter. E-Book also easier to be spread through the Internet and sometimes you might feel amazed to see your E-Book spread faster than you ever thought.

Creating your own product has various advantages and you might realize some of them after you have spread your product all over the Internet. The best effect is when you get your own brand and been recognized by other bloggers, webmasters and customers through your products. Products also can be used to create your mailing list or bringing more prospects to your landing page. You can do a lot of things with your products. The thing is how you manipulate them to achieve your target and goal.

Today there is a lot of method to create your own products. The easy product to create for me is E-Book where you only need a PDF Creator or E-Book maker software to create your own E-Book and spread them to the others using your own way. To create other products such as T-Shirt or mug, you might need to deal with the manufacturers or dropshippers. It might sound tedious but believe me if you do it the right way, you will feel satisfaction of creating your own products!

If you are thinking of creating your own product, plan your work wisely so your product will benefits you and your readers/prospects. Keep in mind that you have to think wide for greater impact.
