At last, I’m back to blogging.

After a few months of tiring projects, assignments and workloads, now I get my fingers and mind back on blogging. That’s a long time.

Getting back to blogging is not as easy as I thought. It took sometimes and few attempts. Fortunately I did it and I concluded what I done into 5 ways. Yes, 5 ways to get back to blogging.

    1. Visiting Other Blogs/Sites

This is the method that motivates me most. After a long time without any blogging activities, it’s quite hard to make a kickstart again. So I’m trying to make it through visiting other blogs and I can see that there are a lot of changes. The most obvious one is the updates and second, the design. It’s like I got the feeling of been left behind and this feeling motivated me to write again. By the way, reading others’ blogs might give you ideas and thoughts as well.

    2. Reading Newspaper/Magazine

I admit that taking a pause in blogging somehow made me lack of new ideas on what to write and etc thus I got losing interest in blogging. In order to get new ideas, I bought recent newspaper and magazine and searched for some latest and interesting info. That’s it! I found some interesting news and stories, analyzed them and then supported them by some sort of additional info from relevant sources. Within a few hours, I got 3-4 new posts for my sites with various niches!

    3. Checking Your Archives

This is a rare thing to do but I guess this method is effective when I’m trying to get ideas relating to the older posts. Sometimes you might realized that there are posts that incomplete or need further explanation. Some of your older posts might give you new ideas too. For example, you wrote about how to choose a laptop. Maybe you would like to write about maintaining your laptop outdoor. After a long pause from blogging, it’s like I lost connection with the previous posts so I check the archives to continue the ideas from the previous posts or creating new ideas from them.

    4. Ideas from Social Networking

Sometimes social networking such as Facebook, Friendster, MySpace and Twitter help me a lot to get involve into various discussions and topics. Reading updates or discussions from social networking give me some nice ideas and boost me up to write again!

    5. Pen & Paper

As I’d mentioned above, stopping blogging for a while somehow makes me lack of creating new ideas so I did one more method that is pen & paper. I bought a small notebook and every time I got any interesting idea, I’ll put it in the list. Well, this method actually is the habit that we should do to avoid forgetting any interesting ideas those come in our mind. And a nice thing is this method helps me to bring me back to blogging!

Recently Darren Rowse from ProBlogger also posted 13 ways on how to get back to blogging after vacation so I guess I could practice various methods to boost me up and enhance my writing skills.

Life is about learning. And I’m currently back on the blogging track!

That’s always the hardest. Once you quit a blog, it’s really hard to get back to it. I’ve only quit a blog once and been able to come back to it. I have been managing a blog for almost 2 years now. I guess I can say I quit because I now pay somebody to update it but still…
