Honesty is The Best Blogging Policy

I believe most of us really familiar or at least have ever heard one of the popular idioms – “Honesty is the best policy“. It means that you have to tell the truth, even if it seems to be more useful to you if you tell a lie.

Blogging is the medium to spread information and knowledge, and yes, it could also be the platform for rumors and lies. The blogger or author is the one who determines the content of his/her blog or site and in fact a word or information can be spread all over the world through a few clicks.

Be Honest With What You Say

Blogging let you tell your readers what you think and know. You write the content and your readers read it. It’s like you give a talk to a bunch of people and they are listening to your talk. So the most important thing that you have to keep in mind is – you have to be honest with what you say. Some readers might enjoying reading your contents even they’re full of lies and some readers might judge them first. You might be condemned by the readers or other authors for telling the lies. But the most important matter is the satisfaction of telling the truth to your readers.

    Between Profit & Honesty

Sometimes we might tend to create stories in order to sell the products and make sales. The words are so attractive so the customers will buy it but we have to keep in mind that lies never stay forever. The customers will then realize the lies that you’ve done. As the result, you will jeopardize your own reputation and your chance to improve your performance in the future. Tell the truth about the product that you want to sell or promote and if you never try the product, tell the truth. You can promote it in the other way such as relating the advantages of having that kind of product and suggest them to buy it.

    The Best Policy

As the title said, honesty is the best blogging policy. Always tell the truth and get information from the trusted sources. Be honest as much as you can and if you mistakenly telling the lies, don’t ever feel ashamed to apologize. Your apologize could redeem your previous lies and mistakes, and your readers will be more than happy to forgive you. My word is, if you want the other people to be honest with you, you have to be honest with the others too.

Keep in mind that honesty is the best blogging policy! =)

Yea, agree with what are you saying.
A lie to a customer/prospect would leave a dark spot in the business while an honest would remain a name eternally.

One of the realities of life is deceit. It may prosper for a while but in the end, honesty prevails. ๐Ÿ™‚
