Emily AndersonBy Emily AndersonFebruary 14, 2015No Comments3 Mins Read

People who have never come up with a marketing strategy before will have pretty much no idea what they’re doing. Don’t be embarrassed; everybody has to start somewhere!

Right now you’re probably hearing a lot of words and phrases that don’t make sense to you.

Don’t worry; simply read through this post and you’ll be able to come up with an unbeatable online marketing strategy:

    Know Your USP

To get started, identify your USP. What’s a USP? A unique selling proposition. What’s different about you? Why? What problems do you solve that other companies don’t? Identify everything that’s unique about you and use it to your advantage. Come up with a brand message based around it.

    Identify Your Target Market

Knowing exactly who your target market is is imperative to your success. You need to know who they are, where they are, what they like, what they don’t like, how they like their eggs in the morning, that kind of thing. Once you know who they are, you’ll know how to reach them best.

Pick the Most Suitable Social Media Sites

You can’t have a marketing strategy without social media, but you need to pick the most suitable sites. As you know who your target audience are, you should be able to work out where to find them. Icebreaker want you to make sure you don’t overwhelm yourself by picking too many platforms; pick platforms you know how to use and can stick to easily.

    Find a Voice

The voice you use should be consistent throughout all of your social media posts, blogs, and ad campaigns. Think about what sort of relationship you want with your audience; coach? Parent? Lecturer? How do you want to be viewed by your audience? Describe what you aren’t using adjectives too. Stick to this.

    Analyse

How else would you know what’s working if you didn’t analyse? Get quality analytics tools and consider A/B testing to find out where you get the best responses.

How Much Are You Willing to Spend?

You need to know your budget before you can decide what routes to take. How much will you allocate to each sector? Remember, this is an investment that should get you great results. The money you spend will be worth it if you work with the right companies.

    Get Personal

By getting personal and getting involved in the community more, you’ll appear more human. Your audience will automatically relate to you more. Include your own personality in the things you do.

    Be Committed

Your marketing strategy is an investment, so remember that when you decide what to do. It’ll take time to get amazing results, but if you keep trying you’ll get there.

    Learn Through Experience

Make sure you learn through your experiences and use them to help you improve wherever possible. Don’t be afraid to change things up even if something is working though – it could make a huge difference!

Now go ahead and come up with a plan to take over the internet!
