    Post Published. What’s next?

Publishing post is bread and butter for bloggers. Sometimes we publish it in time, make it draft or schedule it to be published on the specific time.

Imagine you had published your post. What’s next?

Ignoring your post after you had published it is a mistake. And most of us did it and still doing it. Your post might be spread through search engine or your regular visitors, but if you continuously rely on them, you can’t improve your blog performance.

Now your post had been submitted. What’s next? Spread the word!

Some of your readers might get interest in your post but the first thing is you have to spread it yourselves. Let’s do it step by step. I have a list that I wrote down myself and I call it “The Submission Rule”. I refer to it every time after I submit my post.

    The Submission Rule

    1. Publish the post.

    2. Tweet the post. Tweet interesting message related to the post and include link to the post.

    3. Submit post to Digg!

    4. Submit post to Facebook.

    5. Submit post to Yahoo! Buzz.

    6. Stumble the post at StumbleUpon.

    7. Bookmark it at Delicious.

    8. Make a visit to the commenters on previous post.

This is my way of spreading my own post. And it works! I got more traffic and new commenter for every posts.

You can do it more systematically if you arrange your own steps and list them down.

How about you? Do you do some efforts after you publish your post? Share yours through your comments below!

This is a great article but there are 2 things that people need to know.

      1) Don’t submit your post to digg. Have a friend submit your post to digg because the digg users hate self submitted content.

      2) Don’t submit your post to stumbleupon too often. They will block you from submitting your own posts. Try to stumble at least 10 sites between each submission or just have a friend submit your post.

One should also make it a practice to submit the post to ezine. Visiting forums is also a good traffic puller. We would strongly recommend commenting on other blogs.
